Troubleshooting: Wrong Table Appears or Customer Cannot Submit
Fixing card misassociations, incorrect table numbers, and cart submission blocks.
Steps
Verify the physical card assignment
If Table 3 shows "Table 8" when tapped, the physical card was linked to the wrong table record.
Go to Dashboard → Cards (`/dashboard/cards`), find the card assigned to Table 8, and reassign it to Table 3.
Check if "Accepting Orders" is enabled
If customers tap "Place Order" and receive a notice that the kitchen is closed, check restaurant settings.
In Settings → Service & orders (`/owner/settings`), check that the "Accepting Orders" switch is toggled ON.
Check for out-of-stock items in the cart
If a guest added an item that was 86ed by the kitchen before checkout, the cart will highlight that item.
The guest must remove the out-of-stock item from their cart before the remaining order can be submitted.
Check if the table bill was already requested
Once a table requests the bill, new ordering is temporarily locked while payment is prepared.
If the party wants to order additional desserts or drinks, the waiter can reopen the table order or place it directly via `/waiter/tables`.
What you should see
Cards are matched to correct tables and order submission proceeds smoothly.
Good to know
- Waiters can always place orders manually on behalf of any table from `/waiter/tables` if a guest encounters a phone issue.
